Welcome to Washington’s Secret Garden

Open Year-Round, Tuesday-Saturday 10am-3pm

PowellsWood blends the untamed beauty of a Pacific Northwest forest and a curated, English-style garden in one dynamic visit. The cultivated garden serves as a portal to a 37-acre nature preserve brimming with native plants and wildlife. Your admission includes entry to the 3-acre garden and the nature preserve. Conveniently located between Seattle and Tacoma, PowellsWood is an accessible woodland oasis amidst the urban sprawl.

Garden Features: Explore seven distinctive garden areas, including an Entry Garden, Perennial Border, Stream & Pond, Shade Garden & Trellis, Woodland & Moss Garden, Spring Garden, and House Garden & Patio. With more than 1,000 species of plants packed into three acres, the garden is lush and scenic year-round.

PowellsWood Nature Preserve: Connected to the north end of the garden via footpath is a 37-acre forest preserve brimming with native plants. Enjoy a one-mile loop trail through a lush ravine under a canopy of towering cedars, hemlocks, and Douglas firs. The nature preserve is under the care and protection of PowellsWood through ongoing conservation efforts.
