  • The American Public Gardens Association is an association of public-garden institutions and professionals primarily in the United States and Canada. APGA is the largest peer network of public gardens and represents organizations of all sizes. As a Member garden, PowellsWood has access to conferences and dozens of resources that spark insight and improvement in the world of public horticulture. APGA engages in advocacy efforts to protect and promote public gardens and our collective natural heritage.

  • The Pacific Northwest is richly endowed with public gardens of all sorts. If you’re looking for native plants or exotics, a natural landscape or a full-to-bursting perennial border, a botanical garden or a sculpture garden, you can find your place here. The Puget Sound Public Gardens website was created to bring together in one place a listing of public gardens in the Puget Sound region as a gateway resource for garden visitors. Partner gardens include Amazon Spheres, Bellevue Botanical Garden, Bloedel Reserve, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Elisabeth Carey Miller Botanical Garden, Heronswood Garden, Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, University of Washington Botanic Gardens, and more.

  • Whether you're looking for an amazing day trip or just a quiet afternoon stroll through a beautiful garden, South Sound Gardens has something for you. Scattered throughout South Puget Sound, these gardens offer an astounding array of diverse plant species, landscape, and size. Immerse yourself in one of six delightful gardens or make a day of it and enjoy them all. Partner gardens include: Lake Wilderness Arboretum, Lakewold Gardens, Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, Soos Creek Botanical Garden, & WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory.

  • The Garden Conservancy Northwest Network (GCNN) is a member-supported association of gardens, parks, and horticultural organizations. It is dedicated to connecting people and gardens, creating engaging educational programming, fostering an appreciation of plants, and preserving gardens as vital cultural resources.

  • PowellsWood is a member of the American Horticultural Society, which promotes sustainable gardening and offers professional development resources for botanical gardens and their employees. The garden also participates in AHS’s Reciprocal Admissions Program, which allows PowellsWood Members to enjoy benefits at more than 300 gardens throughout North America.   • PowellsWood is a supporting member of Northwest Horticultural Society. NHS provides a forum for gardeners and plant lovers in the Pacific Northwest to share their interests and learn about horticulture.

    NHS provides inspiration and education to the Northwest gardening community through an ongoing series of webinars, lectures, symposiums, workshops and classes.

  • Friends of the Rainforest inspires children and adults to protect and preserve the rainforest. PowellsWood sponsors Friends of the Rainforest and mirrors its passion for education and youth-driven advocacy. This partnership helps bridge the connection between protecting PowellsWood’s 37-acre nature preserve and the preservation of the Pacific Flyway -an aerial “highway” for migratory birds and insects. Friends of the Rainforest and PowellsWood share a passion for land conservation and galvanizing people to take action to protect the environment.
