This Japanese/Korean teller from Hawaii creates affecting story performances based on oral histories of Hawaii’s peoples. He will present: stories from the Japanese-American 100th Battalion and 442 Regimental Combat Team of World War II; Tales of Okinawan high school girls who were impressed into the Japanese Army, plus stories of Hawaii-Okinawa connections during WWII.
